**Wake County Puts Spotlight on Firefighter Cancer Awareness**
Raleigh, North Carolina – Wake County Government has reported that occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths among firefighters. In an effort to shed light on this critical issue, local leaders in Wake County are working to raise awareness and advocate for change.
As part of Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month, Wake County will release a four-part video series throughout January. These videos aim to inform the public about the realities of firefighter occupational cancer, addressing its past, present, and future impacts.
This initiative highlights the risks faced by firefighters and seeks to build a greater understanding of their health challenges, while driving conversation about measures to help protect these frontline heroes.
