**Wake County Encourages Radon Testing During National Radon Action Month**

Wake County Government in Raleigh, North Carolina, is marking January as National Radon Action Month by raising awareness about radon exposure and offering residents tools to ensure their homes are safe.

Radon, a naturally occurring gas, can be present in both the air and well water. To help residents understand and reduce their exposure, Wake County is offering a comprehensive radionuclide testing package. This package includes:

- Water testing for gross alpha and beta activity

- Testing for radon and uranium in water

- A radon-in-air test kit to measure radon levels indoors

These tests provide a complete overview of potential radon exposure to help protect households. Residents are encouraged to take action by scheduling these tests.
