FDNY Welcomes 23rd Officers Management Institute Cohort

On Thursday, Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker welcomed the 23rd cohort of the FDNY Officers Management Institute (FOMI). The program is set to begin next month and provides strategic management and leadership education for senior chiefs and civilians in the FDNY. The education is conducted in partnership with Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
FOMI is designed to prepare members for increased leadership roles within the agency. Over the course of six months, the cohort will participate in one-week seminars and work on four group projects aimed at enhancing the Department’s policies and strategies for the future.
