**Atlanta Police Arrest Murder Suspect Wanted in Two Separate Homicides**
Corey Comer, a 20-year-old suspect wanted for two separate murder cases, was taken into custody on December 27, 2024, by the Atlanta Police Department. Comer faced multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing.
The first incident occurred on May 6, 2024, when Comer fatally shot a 37-year-old man at 47 Cleveland Avenue SW. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the attack. The second case involved the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy on November 17, 2024, at 183 Mount Zion Road SE. In both cases, Comer allegedly used an illegal firearm modification known as a "switch," which converts a semi-automatic weapon into a fully automatic one, allowing it to fire multiple rounds rapidly.
These illegal "switches" pose significant risks to public safety, as noted by law enforcement officials. The Atlanta Police Department and the FBI previously highlighted the growing use of these modifications in violent crimes.
Before his apprehension, Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta and the FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Comer’s arrest and urged the public to provide tips anonymously. Law enforcement emphasized the importance of community cooperation in bringing violators to justice.
Authorities commended the efforts that led to Comer’s capture and continue their commitment to addressing violent crime in the Atlanta area.
