**Fulton County Library System Celebrates U.S. Family Volunteer Day**

ATLANTA, GA – The Fulton County Library System is highlighting the efforts of families making a difference through volunteering as part of U.S. Family Volunteer Day, observed annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Throughout the county, these families have stepped up to provide invaluable support to their local libraries in a variety of ways.

### Alpharetta Library

Simone and Samantha Mendez, a dedicated mother-daughter duo, have been volunteering for two years. They have both earned awards for their outstanding service, contributing over 100 hours each.

### Buckhead Library

Lily and her daughters, Hannah and Ava Sun, have combined volunteering with learning. While shelving books, this family team has strengthened the girls’ alphabet skills.

### Cleveland Avenue and Beyond

John and LaTrenka Riley have been active volunteers since 2007. They lead programs like author talks, crochet classes, and marketing workshops at libraries across Fulton County, including Cleveland Avenue, College Park, East Point, Mechanicsville, Northwest, Southeast, and South Fulton branches.

### Milton Library

The Kartik family, consisting of mom Gayathri, daughter Ananya, and son Aditya, are regular volunteers shelving books. Together, they’ve amassed an impressive number of hours: Gayathri with 95, Ananya with 152, and Aditya with 89. Another Milton Library team, Maureen and Keith Richards, has been teaching MahJong since 2018 at Milton and Northeast/Spruill Oaks libraries. They’ve also started teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Alpharetta Library.

### Northwest Library

Renita, Ryan, Roosevelt II, and Roosevelt III have brought their creative flair to the Northwest Library. Through their organization, Super Creative Adventures, they’ve led engaging storytime events for young readers.

### Sandy Springs Library

Sisters Kathleen and Laureen Hugh shine as artists, crafting detailed displays to enhance the visual appeal of the Sandy Springs Library.

### Wolf Creek Library

Khari Arnold founded "Library Dads," a program designed to encourage fathers and children to connect through library activities. He leads monthly events at the Wolf Creek Library to build stronger community ties.

These families are among the many who exemplify the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement, making the Fulton County Library System a welcoming and vibrant resource for all. As U.S. Family Volunteer Day approaches, the Fulton County Library System celebrates their contributions to education, creativity, and service.
