Today, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston, Texas, welcomed Dr. Troy Byer, a screenwriter, actress, and psychologist, to the Women’s Empowerment Center. During her visit, Dr. Byer observed the re-entry programs offered to jail residents, which are designed to assist them in transitioning back into the community. These programs aim to provide participants with tools for a better future, promoting hope and opportunity. The sheriff's office expressed gratitude for Dr. Byer's visit and support of their life-transition initiatives.
