Harris County Jail Hosts International Criminal Justice Tour

Today, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston, Texas, hosted a tour of the Harris County Jail for a group from Guatemala and Costa Rica. The visitors are participants in a criminal justice comparative and international education and leadership program with Sam Houston State University.

During the tour, the guests explored various facilities, including the Detention Command facilities, the Joint Processing Center, 701 Jail, and the Women's Empowerment Center. They focused particularly on the inmate processing and housing procedures.

This visit highlights the Sheriff's Office's commitment to sharing best practices and collaborating with international communities and academic institutions. The Harris County Sheriff's Office looks forward to continuing its partnership and fostering mutual learning opportunities.
