Kebra-Seyoun Charles Leads Bass Masterclass in DC

Kebra-Seyoun Charles, a double bassist, composer, and 2022 Sphinx Competition winner, will be leading a masterclass and Q&A session on Saturday, September 28th. The event is organized by the DC Youth Orchestra Program (DCYOP) and will take place at Takoma Elementary School, located at 7010 Piney Branch Rd NW, Washington, DC.

The masterclass is scheduled to start at 12:15 PM and will focus on advanced bass players. It will be followed by a Q&A session, allowing attendees to learn more about Charles's career as a performing artist and composer. The event is free and open to the public, although advanced registration is requested. Participants are encouraged to come and see the virtuoso bassist in action and engage in the discussion about building a more inclusive classical music community. The event concludes at 2:00 PM.
