Atlanta Library Partners with TRANSFORMERS for Card Signup Month
Staff Report / ATLlocal.org
Fulton County Library System in Atlanta, Georgia has announced an initiative to drive library card signup this September. As this month is recognized nationally as Library Card Signup Month, the campaign is meant to highlight the resources available to cardholders, with this year's efforts taking on a fun twist—the library is partnering with the popular TRANSFORMERS franchise.
The library is encouraging community members to upgrade their skills, scout for knowledge, and connect with other readers using their library cards. Access to the library's makerspace can aid artists and programmers in sparking their creativity, while for others, a trip through the library's abundant stack of stories and databases may lead to the discovery of new adventures.
In the interest of encouraging critical thinking, the library strives to help patrons detect and debunk misinformation online. Furthermore, a library card provides access to a wide assortment of reading materials—books, e-books, and audiobooks—perfect for fueling the mind during travel or at home. Partnership passes are also available for a more comprehensive experience.
As the new school year begins, students are particularly urged to take advantage of the benefits a library card can offer. For more information on how to get a library card, visit the Fulton County Library System's website. Remember, as the library's playful TRANSFORMERS partnership suggests, there's more to a library than meets the eye!
